RN Nurse Supervisor - Part Time

This position is 20 hours per week and every other weekend. Statement of the Job
General supervision of nursing staff and coordination of resident care nursing services. Interpretation and enforcement of medical and nursing policies, procedures and practices.
Essential Functions:

Promote and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment within the department, demonstrating respect, consideration and a positive attitude towards staff, residents and family members.
Make rounds throughout the health care facility and assisted living every 1 to 2 hours; assess needs of residents and follow-up on problems, condition changes, transfers, new admissions.
Document any complaints/concerns from family members and follow up as appropriate. Be available to address any family concerns and contact Unit Manager as appropriate.
Coordinate treatment plans, including infection control plans between shifts.
Complete, monitor and/or review applicable department paperwork (i.e., 24 hour reports, census, staffing, incident reports, admissions).
Demonstrate knowledge and support of nursing and facility policy, procedure and programs. Ensure compliance. Make recommendations for enhancement where appropriate. Serve as a resource person to personnel regarding policies, procedures, programs and problems.
Assess employee injuries and/or illnesses and make proper referral for treatment. Assess employees who report on weekends or holidays for verification of illness, submitting documentation to staffing coordinator.
Initiate and document corrective action procedures where necessary and appropriate, in accordance with facility policy.
Follow-up with new nursing employees. Oversee clinical orientation assignments and perform skills check-off as needed.
Demonstrate familiarity with Emergency Plan and assist in proper conducting of emergency responses.
Demonstrate familiarity with contract programs such as IV, oxygen, x-ray, lab,
etc.
Demonstrates reliable reporting habits and proper use of breaks.
Assist Nursing staff when necessary.
Non-Essential Functions:
Promote/safeguard the economical use of supplies and equipment issued to each unit.
Assist with Performance Improvement and auditing efforts, including I???s and O???s, Bowel and Bladder, Restraint Reduction.
Assist with staff development; educate nursing staff as appropriate.
Relay concerns, either staff, resident or family, to nursing management.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, RN Unit Manager, or Administrator.
Nursing Supervisor
Job QualificationsRequired:
Currently licensed RN in the State of Tennessee
Graduate of accredited school of nursing
2 or more years of nursing experience
CPR Certification
Knowledge of OBRA regulations
Excellent communication, supervisory, assessment and follow-up skills
Preferred:
Currently licensed RN in the State of Tennessee.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
Long-term care/geriatric nursing experience
1 to 2 years staffing and supervisory experience



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
