Manager, Systems Administration - Hermitage, TN - Career Level 5
National Information Technology Services
Responsible for all aspects of system/application operations including: problem-solving, configuration, architecture and implementation efforts for large and / or complex projects with an emphasis on operational excellence and continuous improvement of systems engineering related processes and procedures.
Active participation for on-call support rotation for multi-OS environments which require 24 X 7 X 365. Weekend and off-hours work expected.
Plans, architects solutions, documents procedures and coordinate systems software and hardware activities with local and remote team members and their clients, including team members and customers in India.
Represents the Service Line Technology Center (SLTC) Operations team on all respective projects assignments; provides coordination and point of contact services to the project teams.
Operate as the primary resource on a project, through planning, resource allocation, conflict resolution, project negotiation, and reporting. This individual should be able to manage the application through its entire lifecycle and be a central escalation point for the client.
Develop and communicate standards, processes, and procedures within the scope of ITIL.
Flexibility to work in a dynamic fast paced environment with rapid technology changes and complex customer demands.
Willingness to get involved with other open systems technologies such as but not limited to Windows 2003/2008, IIS 6/7, SQL Server 2005/2008/2012, SSIS, SSRS, Oracle 10g/11g, Activity Directory, Microsoft .NET applications development, Scripting, monitoring technologies.
Primary qualifications include:
Bachelors Degree in a technology focused major, certification, or equivalent experience
5+ years with strong experience with Virtual Technologies Including but not limited to:
Vmware Environments including Vsphere, Vcloud, ESX, and Virtual Center
Vmware View
Microsoft Hyper-V
Oracle OVM
ZEN Desktop
5+ years of relevant business and working experience in ITS level 3 support is required to ensure tasks are completed without supervision. Must be a self-starter and willing to accept ownership and responsibility of oversight on an assignment.
5 + years of strong experience in a Microsoft Windows & Office desktop environment is required to ensure a strong foundation in the customer's environment and ability to document systems engineering efforts.
3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008R2, SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services (SIS, SSRS); Oracle 10g/11g a plus
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and higher and Microsoft IIS6 or higher,; Windows 2008 R2 and IIS 7.5 preferred
3+ years of experience in Microsoft .NET 2.0+ application ( , Windows, Windows Services) development and support.
Experience with Microsoft platform is required. 3+ years of experience in two of the following technologies;
Operating Systems
Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 2008
Linux /Solaris/AIX
Web Servers
Microsoft IIS, Apache, JBOSS
Active Directory, LDAP
Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
3+ years of experience and an understanding of concepts and supporting technology for one of the following areas:
Storage Area Networks, NAS
Disaster Recovery
Demonstrates an understanding of complex problem solving techniques dealing with systems engineering and support.
Ability to formulate and recommend technical direction for OS / Hardware / Applications related activities for the project teams in collaboration with SLTC team and other IT organizations within US Information Technology Services.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the systems development life cycle including sizing, configuration, and hardware design recommendations.
Demonstrates an understanding of capacity planning, performance tuning and optimization including the identification of performance related issues.
Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal to all levels within the organizations as well as communicate directly with customers on new projects and / or issues with production systems. Must have superior client management skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
